valium????????????????

will it mess me up if i take alot?

Chosen Answer:

My best friend took it for help with her troubles. Now her biggest trouble is to get off it. She is almost addicted to it. Since she can’t sleep without it, she thinks its best to keep taking it.

Valium (diazepam) is sedative and addictive. Doctors do need to prescribe it in certain cases. Perhaps you need it. But don’t take it without your doctor’s advice, who will tell how much to take, at what times to take and when to stop.

Don’t take it if there is no such advice or an advice against it.

What are the differences between Xanax and Diazepam/valium?

How are the effects different and when are each prescribed?

I think people use Xanax like valium, but I really don’t understand the difference, and when I read the side effects, I learned that Xanax can actually CAUSE anxiety.

I’m looking for something that will numb me up for a flight I have to take. I have huge anxiety when I fly.

Which one is best if I want to be knocked out for a duration?

Would Ambien be better?

Chosen Answer:

Ambien will make you go to sleep, a lot of times Xanax is perscribed for flights only because with Valium the residual drowsiness is extreme, the best for a short flight would probably be Ativan, as you will be alert easier but still will have the same effect (BTW all the drugs described besides Ambien, belong the the Benzodiazapine family of drugs)

doctors can you tell me the difference between anti anxiety pills and valium?

i thought they have the same effect ,does valium just relax you or take the edge off?under what circumstances can you request valium on prescription from a doctor?thanks

Chosen Answer:

Valium (diazepam) is a benzodiazepine and as such is one of the drugs used to treat anxiety disorders. There are other classes of drugs also used to treat these disorders, as well. You can always ask, but your doctor may think another class of drug is more appropriate, or if he chooses a benzodiazepine he may think another in the class is a better choice. Asking specifically for Valium is likely to look something like a kid throwing a fit for mom to buy him a toy, considering how little you know about the treatment options, mechanisms of action, and adverse effect profiles. The doctor is, after all, the expert here. That’s why he’s the one with the prescription pad.

what is the difference between xanax and valium?

I took a .25 xanax about 2 hours ago and I am still having muscle spasms in my neck . Is it alright to take a Valium 5 mgs.

Chosen Answer:

By its effects, the 0.5mg dose of Xanax is approximately equal to 10 mg of Diazepam (Valium). I.e., .25mg Xanax = 5mg Valium. But these medications act differently, and different people may respond to each of them differently. So, it depends…

Is it normal for valium to cause depression?

I often need to take valium for my nervous spasms in class, otherwise I cannot even keep eye contact with the instructor. Usually after I take it and when class ends, I get so depressed I can cry. I’m not usually like this, I feel like it is kind of serious sometimes…
Can valium induce this?

Chosen Answer:

Absolutely, Valium (diazepam) is a hypnotic sedative and central nervous system depressant of the benzodiazepine class of drugs, and it can also cause amnesia – not good for studying or class..

Not only can Valium cause depression, it makes existing depression worse.

Because Valium is so addictive to your system, when the dose begins to wear off, you immediately feel detox symptoms including depression. New studies show it takes more than 6 months valium-free to recover, and some peopole never fully return to normal after the benzodiazepine withdrawal syndrome.

Valium is one of the most frequently prescribed medications in the world for the past 40 years.

Whats the difference between bromzepam and valium?

I was given bromazepam by a doctor to take on a flight as I am scared of flying, I am usually given valium, what is the difference?
Bromazepam, not diazepam

Chosen Answer:

bromazepam is a derivative of a group of drugs called benzodiazepines, used for anxiety, insomnia, alcohol withdrawl. it’s not available in the us as it’s potentially more addictive than traditional benzos.

valium is also a benzo derivative, available in the us, used for the same plus may have an antiseizure, antipsychotic, and antidepressant effect. carries the same risks as other benzodiazepines but may not be as potentially harmful.

the two drugs are very similar in structure but vary ever so slightly.

How likely is an allergic reaction to Valium?

So the dentist gave me four Valium to help with the anxiety before a root canal, but I am a medicine phobe and hate taking anything for any reason really.

So my question is how likely is it for someone to have an allergic reaction to diazepam / Valium? I know that Valium has been around for a really long time and people take it in excess of 30 years with no physical side effects aside from addiction and dependence. I’m still concerned though. Thanks!

Chosen Answer:

Slim to none. Your dentist had to go to school as long as your physician did. They would know if you had any odd condition that would predispose you to any problem. As you said its been around long enough that they know enough about it to avoid that prob. Sounds like you have some anxiety issues and that might explain why they wrote the script for 4 . just take it and relax. You cant live your life in fear.

Is it legal to fire a person over a positive valium blood test?

My father was fired because he tested positive for valium on a blood test. He was prescribed this medicine by a doctor, and valium (diazepam) is legal in the United States. Is this legal?

Chosen Answer:

I think if he showed them proof of a prescription then maybe it is not legal unless he was driving heavy equipment and got in a wreck or near wreck at work. You are not supposed to drive or operate heavy equipment when taking nerve pills.
