Anxiety…?

I am a wreck. I can’t sleep at night without calling my Mom at least once and saying, “I love you” a million times. I’m afraid something will happen to me or my family and I not there to say good-bye. I always look out my bedroom window at night to see if anything unusual is in the sky. My mom can’t be out more than two hours without me having to call her (when I stay home alone). I hate this experince! It is very frightening and I have even considered taking prescribtion medicine to wave away those types of thoughts. I have talked numerously to the school counselour, but my mind is no where near ease. I never had this anxiety (disorder) last year. It came from no where! What can I do to clear away my anxiety? (P.S. Last night, I had a dream my Dad got shot and this man walked up and said he died, but then I practically jumped awake).

Chosen Answer:

The good news is that anxiety generally responds VERY well to treatment.

There are a number of ways to go about it, but first – I would suggest you speak with your doctor to work out a plan.

You can do biofeedback, meditation (sounds true has a CD called anxiety relief that is terrific), yoga.

You can work with a cognitive-behavioral therapist who can help you get your thinking on track.

And then, there are a LOT of different meds. Some anti-depressants can be if you’re a teen this may not be the best course. There are anti-anxiety meds and then there is propranalol which inhibits the body from having anxiety reactions – so you may start to feel anxious but when your heart doesn’t race and you don’t get a stomach ache, it stops the chain of anxiety and you’re fine.

Or…you might wind up doing a combination of things. just speak with your doctor. This is totally workable!

How do I deal with anxiety, guilt and sadness returning to work after baby?

I am returning to work in 2 weeks and am feeling extreme anxiety and guilt about leaving my 6-month baby. I haven’t been apart from him for more than 6 hours since he’s been born. Financially our family needs two incomes, and I am obligated to return to work, but am emotionally not ready. Whenever I think of it, I start crying. How can I deal with this?

Chosen Answer:

Just remember that what is good for the mother is good for the child. All involved in the family process have their own needs. Even at an early age children start to understand that they fit in to a larger picture. So getting back to work or your regular routine is really good for a baby. It provides a rythm to their world. Plus after you have picked the proper type day care for you and your child you can feel confident that the socializing they are picking up inherently is very valuable as well.

But if these feeling persist or intensify see your doctor or a therapist as post partum depression is real and terrifying.

Good luck with work! Enjoy.

Xanax is very short acting. Valium takes many hours to clear your system. Otherwise they have very similar properties: calms you, makes you sleepy, reduces anxiety, and relaxes muscles.

How can I calm my anxiety problems at night time?

At night time I have severe anxiety and paranoia problems. I continually convince myself that I can hear noises downstairs and I scare myself into believing that someone is trying to/has broken into my home. As a result of this I am up and down the stairs double checking locks etc, and this goes on for hours. I’m hardly sleeping and its really taking its toll. Does anyone have any advice on how to overcome this problem?

Chosen Answer:

I have the same problem, PLUS Chronic Insomnia. Try to avoid eating any dairy products. The only time you should eat dairy products is in the morning. Dairy increases your mental and physical state. But I learned to overcome my anxiety and every once in a while I still have insomnia.

1.) Get into a comfortable position. (I sleep on my right side.)
2.) Clear your mind. This is important and you need to stay focused.
3.) relax your body. Head to toe. Let the stress of the day just flow out of you.
4.) (This is completely up to you.) But think about the time that you felt at peace. It will most likely calm your inner fears.

Then Voila. Hope this helps. :)

How long does valium tablets stays in my sistem?

Hey
I took 6mg valium one night and then i went to sleep some hours later and then i woke up and took 6mg more. (not legal). How long will it stay in my system? :)
PS: its “Roche 2″ pills im not sure what it is can you explain me whats that besides the question above? :)
thank you

Chosen Answer:

Valium is a benzo, and they can stay in your system for 40 days..but it depends on how much you took, you only took 12 mg, so youll be clear in less than 40 days. Just drink water and excersise if you need to pass a drug test..its just really hard to tell someone when they will be clean, you really cant. but if i had to give an answer, i would go with maybe 2 weeks and youre good, prob even less than that. But if you do get drug tested for whatever reason, benzos are NOT the thing to take.

Can you take benadryl as a sleep aid 12 hours after taking Valium>?

Can I take 50 to 125mg of diphenhydramine hydrochloride as a sleep aid safely between 8 and 12 hours after having taken 10mg of Valium?
I don’t want to take Valium as a sleep aid because it suppresses REM sleep, and it doesn’t really work for putting me to sleep.

Chosen Answer:

Yes. If you have Valium why would you take benadryl. It has a shorter half life so you wont be as groggy.

My friend wants to take her daily shot of heroin after taking a 10mg valium tabet, is this unsafe?

She uses intravenously (needles) about half a gram. She took a 10mg valium tablet a few hours back. I told her that using to depressants would not be a good idea, but she won’t listen to me. Is this dangerous? 10mg valium is a relatively small dose. And no, I do not support her habit, I just want to keep her safe. Thanks.

Chosen Answer:

I take thirty mg of valium, diazepam and thirty of oxycodone, but bangin the stuff straight is of course different.

how long after drinking can I take valium?

I take valium if I have pre symptoms of a seizure (stress, lack of sleep, drinking, etc.) maybe once a month.

If I drink too much on a friday night could I take a valium ~24 hours later before sleep the next night as this is when a seizure would be most likely to occur?

Thanks!

Chosen Answer:

If you have any symptoms of seizures the absolute worst thing you can do to yourself is to drink alcohol at all. Alcohol itself reduces a person’s seizure threshold, this is why even someone who is not epileptic, if they drink too much may go into seizures, especially during alcohol poisoning. An epileptic is highly prone to seizures when drinking. Many doctors will say to completely avoid drinking or drink rarely and only one drink at most. Along with this, taking benzodiazepines, you should not drink. As far as taking valium after drinking, although not 100 percent certain as I am not a doctor, just experienced with epilepsy, sedatives, and benzodiazepines, you will want to be sure that all alcohol is out of your system completely before ever taking it as valium itself is a sedative and the 2 together could cause an OD. I myself have had to take Ativan which is similar to Valium but much stronger and I absolutely never drink, even when not having to take Ativan. I make every attempt to avoid having a seizure as to me they are very painful and make me feel very sick.
