Anxiety…?

I am a wreck. I can’t sleep at night without calling my Mom at least once and saying, “I love you” a million times. I’m afraid something will happen to me or my family and I not there to say good-bye. I always look out my bedroom window at night to see if anything unusual is in the sky. My mom can’t be out more than two hours without me having to call her (when I stay home alone). I hate this experince! It is very frightening and I have even considered taking prescribtion medicine to wave away those types of thoughts. I have talked numerously to the school counselour, but my mind is no where near ease. I never had this anxiety (disorder) last year. It came from no where! What can I do to clear away my anxiety? (P.S. Last night, I had a dream my Dad got shot and this man walked up and said he died, but then I practically jumped awake).

Chosen Answer:

The good news is that anxiety generally responds VERY well to treatment.

There are a number of ways to go about it, but first – I would suggest you speak with your doctor to work out a plan.

You can do biofeedback, meditation (sounds true has a CD called anxiety relief that is terrific), yoga.

You can work with a cognitive-behavioral therapist who can help you get your thinking on track.

And then, there are a LOT of different meds. Some anti-depressants can be if you’re a teen this may not be the best course. There are anti-anxiety meds and then there is propranalol which inhibits the body from having anxiety reactions – so you may start to feel anxious but when your heart doesn’t race and you don’t get a stomach ache, it stops the chain of anxiety and you’re fine.

Or…you might wind up doing a combination of things. just speak with your doctor. This is totally workable!

valium????????????????

will it mess me up if i take alot?

Chosen Answer:

My best friend took it for help with her troubles. Now her biggest trouble is to get off it. She is almost addicted to it. Since she can’t sleep without it, she thinks its best to keep taking it.

Valium (diazepam) is sedative and addictive. Doctors do need to prescribe it in certain cases. Perhaps you need it. But don’t take it without your doctor’s advice, who will tell how much to take, at what times to take and when to stop.

Don’t take it if there is no such advice or an advice against it.

I need Valium for a bad back that keeps me awake at night and causes stress?

I injured my back a few months ago the doctor has prescribed me lots of different pain killers and sleeping tablets. But the only ones I found effective for getting to sleep and relieving my back were Valium. But my doctor only prescribed them for a week, And will not prescribe more due to their addictiveness. Please someone tell me a legitimate web site that will send me real valium.

Chosen Answer:

Your doctor know much more about Valium than you can imagine. Taking it for pain and sleep for more than a week is a very bad idea. You have absolutely no clue how terribly addictive Valium is, or how bad the withdrawals can be.

Follow your doctors advice and avoid the valium. Work with him to find other medications that work. Taking benzos or z-drugs (ambien) for sleep for more than a week is an extremely bad idea.

And to answer your question, there are no legitimate web sites that sell real valium. It is a controlled substance, and you can only get a prescription from your doctor.

What medication should I take instead of Xanax or Valium?

Xanax just puts me to sleep and Valium is addictive. I’m always on edge and go through periods of depression and I tend to get angry at work. What can I take that will allow me to function at work and calm my nerves at the same time?

Chosen Answer:

My new dr made me give up years of taking klonopin- it’s just like xanax or valium.
I had a major hard time getting off it.

BUT
He put me on Lexapro and wowwwwwww… I never knew how good life could be!
It’s an anti depressant also approved for Anxiety.

Amazing stuff.

Ask your dr. Don’t take that addictive stuff.
one pill at night does it for me and even helps me sleep.

What are the differences between Xanax and Diazepam/valium?

How are the effects different and when are each prescribed?

I think people use Xanax like valium, but I really don’t understand the difference, and when I read the side effects, I learned that Xanax can actually CAUSE anxiety.

I’m looking for something that will numb me up for a flight I have to take. I have huge anxiety when I fly.

Which one is best if I want to be knocked out for a duration?

Would Ambien be better?

Chosen Answer:

Ambien will make you go to sleep, a lot of times Xanax is perscribed for flights only because with Valium the residual drowsiness is extreme, the best for a short flight would probably be Ativan, as you will be alert easier but still will have the same effect (BTW all the drugs described besides Ambien, belong the the Benzodiazapine family of drugs)

How long does valium tablets stays in my sistem?

Hey
I took 6mg valium one night and then i went to sleep some hours later and then i woke up and took 6mg more. (not legal). How long will it stay in my system? :)
PS: its “Roche 2″ pills im not sure what it is can you explain me whats that besides the question above? :)
thank you

Chosen Answer:

Valium is a benzo, and they can stay in your system for 40 days..but it depends on how much you took, you only took 12 mg, so youll be clear in less than 40 days. Just drink water and excersise if you need to pass a drug test..its just really hard to tell someone when they will be clean, you really cant. but if i had to give an answer, i would go with maybe 2 weeks and youre good, prob even less than that. But if you do get drug tested for whatever reason, benzos are NOT the thing to take.

Can you take benadryl as a sleep aid 12 hours after taking Valium>?

Can I take 50 to 125mg of diphenhydramine hydrochloride as a sleep aid safely between 8 and 12 hours after having taken 10mg of Valium?
I don’t want to take Valium as a sleep aid because it suppresses REM sleep, and it doesn’t really work for putting me to sleep.

Chosen Answer:

Yes. If you have Valium why would you take benadryl. It has a shorter half life so you wont be as groggy.

how long after drinking can I take valium?

I take valium if I have pre symptoms of a seizure (stress, lack of sleep, drinking, etc.) maybe once a month.

If I drink too much on a friday night could I take a valium ~24 hours later before sleep the next night as this is when a seizure would be most likely to occur?

Thanks!

Chosen Answer:

If you have any symptoms of seizures the absolute worst thing you can do to yourself is to drink alcohol at all. Alcohol itself reduces a person’s seizure threshold, this is why even someone who is not epileptic, if they drink too much may go into seizures, especially during alcohol poisoning. An epileptic is highly prone to seizures when drinking. Many doctors will say to completely avoid drinking or drink rarely and only one drink at most. Along with this, taking benzodiazepines, you should not drink. As far as taking valium after drinking, although not 100 percent certain as I am not a doctor, just experienced with epilepsy, sedatives, and benzodiazepines, you will want to be sure that all alcohol is out of your system completely before ever taking it as valium itself is a sedative and the 2 together could cause an OD. I myself have had to take Ativan which is similar to Valium but much stronger and I absolutely never drink, even when not having to take Ativan. I make every attempt to avoid having a seizure as to me they are very painful and make me feel very sick.

Is it safe to mix valium and benadryl to help sleep?

I have been having trouble at night going to sleep and staying asleep. I was wondering if 1 tablet of benadryl (25mg) and 1 tablet of valium (5mg) would be safe to take together?
I wanted to know so I can get some sleep right now through some stressful times right now.

Thanks

Chosen Answer:

No. Reason: Valium suppresses REM sleep, a highly important part of the sleep cycle. You will possibly become more restless AND drowsier concurrently, thus further inducing the problem of not enough sleep.

However, if you would like a weird, and risky, high in which you may suffer more greatly than originally intended, I’m sure it won’t completely kill you – you just may wish for a while that you were dead. ;)

Your very best bet (beginning tomorrow) is to ensure that in the afternoon or early evening (about 4 to 8 hours prior to bed time) you do 30 minutes of a gentle exercise if you don’t already exercise, or add a small amount more to your usual routine (apparently, walking may not count, so throw in some careful sit ups). Doing so outdoors can be wonderful, especially if you’re not one to suffer from allergies.
Then ensure you eat some comforting, sleep-inducing foods fr dinner, such as turkey, potatoes, other higher starchy foods, soup, cheesy pasta and include plenty of veggies and a glass of 100% grapefruit juice in case you’re worried about weight gain. Of course, very few of us enjoy grapefruit juice, so OJ should be alright. ^_^ I thoroughly enjoyed the overall good feeling of this American brand made “for kids” that includes Vitamins A, D, and I think (could be making this last one up) E, as well as Calcium and Vitamin C.

BTW, I also recommend against alcohol, for it will dehydrate your body, and give you a headache (if not a hang over)…

But of course, all of this is up to you and entirely your choice.

Just realized you wanted sleep now… I don’t know how I sleep through stressful times. Perhaps you need to let some of that emotional baggage out with tears, or perhaps take some slow, deep breaths, while thinking instead about larger-scale things of even greater importance (though this may not be healthy, I know I do it, and I wind up thinking no problem of mine is relevant – I recommend against this thought pattern), your problems that are causing you to stress are obviously relevant and important to you, or you would not worry so much.
If possible, have faith in life, that things will be alright.
Take a time out to imagine yourself on a holiday from the stress… if this means picture yourself on the beach of a tropical island, or up on the highest mountain skiing at 45+ mph, so be it. Do not allow your stress to interrupt this, however. Attempt thoughts upon almost anything that generally relaxes you and makes you feel happy/content.
If you enjoy chocolate, think of chocolate. If you dream of flying, picture yourself above all of us looking down with a bird’s eye view.

All the best to you.
